KEY POINTS
1
Park by the centre and check the trees for local birds and migrants. Scan the hillside for raptors, especially eagles.
2
Walk down the track to the shore. There is a Red Deer museum at the end. Look over the shore for waders and otters.
3
Walk to the point of Am Ploc for a chance of other waders and scan the loch carefully for divers, sea ducks and gulls.
4
If the burn is low, you can cross and cover the south side with the grassland where geese graze and there is the chance of even more waders.
5
Walk to the old settlement of Doire na Fuaran (Field of the Springs) looking for pipits and chats.
