LUNDY: Three Great White Egrets were a new species for the island. There was a Mediterran­ean Gull, Firecrest, Glaucous Gull, Snow Bunting and Great Northern Diver.

NORTH DEVON: Velator had three Curlew Sandpipers and six Little Egrets. Baggy Point had 29 Red-throated Divers, 20 Common Scoters, a Black Redstart and Velvet Scoter. Braunton had a Black-tailed Godwit, four Water Rails, a Ruff, two Spoonbills and a Pintail. Barnstaple had two Common Sandpipers. Four Purple Sandpipers and a Mediterran­ean Gull were at Westward Ho! A White-fronted Goose was at Roadford Reservoir. Instow had six Blackcaps and a Black Redstart.

Isley Marsh had 180 Shelducks and five Greenshank­s. Ilfracombe had a Black Redstart and two Purple Sandpipers. Two Snow Buntings were at Northam Burrows. Four Glossy Ibises were at Fremington Pill. Lower Tamar Lake had six Willow Tits, 46 Goosanders, a Green Sandpiper and White-tailed Eagle.

SOUTH DEVON: Torbay had a Black-necked Grebe, five Red-throated Divers, 14 Great Northern Divers, a Red-necked Grebe, 18 Cirl Buntings, two Long-tailed Ducks, a Scaup, Yellow-browed Warbler, Black Redstart, eight Common Scoters, a Mediterran­ean Gull, Pomarine Skua, four Firecrests, an Iceland Gull and Siberian Chiffchaff. The Plym Estuary had a Great Northern Diver, Jack Snipe, 282 Dunlin, two Firecrests, six Greenshank­s, a Common Sandpiper and two Grey Plovers.

Two Hawfinches were at Longdown. Slapton had a Ring-necked Duck, five Great Northern Divers, three Red-throated Divers, a Glaucous Gull and five Goldeneyes. Soar had 950 Sky Larks, 53 Cirl Buntings, 60 Yellowhamm­ers, a Whinchat, Merlin and Black Redstart. Lannacombe had eight Firecrests. Otterton, Totnes and Ottery St. Mary had Yellow-browed Warblers. Start Point had five Common Scoters, two Great Northern Divers and three Black Redstarts. Plymouth had 130 Ring necked Parakeets.

The Exe Estuary had a Short-eared Owl, 330 Lapwings, seven Grey Plovers, 60 Pintails, 12 Greenshank­s, 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, 500 Avocets and a Dusky Warbler. Torpoint had a Spotted Redshank. Hopes Nose had a Long-tailed Duck, 18 Great Northern Divers and a Glaucous Gull. Rippon Tor had a Hen Harrier. Soussons and Vitifer Mine on Dartmoor had Great Grey Shrikes. Budleigh Salterton had 12 Water Pipits and a Yellow-browed Warbler. Topsham had 400 Avocets and good numbers of Black tailed Godwits.

Matford Pools, Exeter, had a Green-winged Teal. Woolley Forestry Plantation, near

Bradworthy had 250,000 Starlings. Powderham Marsh had 620 Brent Geese, five Bar-tailed Godwits, five Grey Plovers, 110 Knot, 40 Cattle Egrets, a Great Northern Diver, Green Sandpiper, 10 Greenshank­s, 300 Black-tailed Godwits and 120 Avocets. Burrator had 40 Crossbills. Starcross had 32 Cattle Egrets. Chapmanswe­ll had 300 Golden Plovers. A Rose-coloured Starling was at Stoke Fleming.

Salcombe had an albino Great Northern Diver. Berry Head had a Great Skua, Sooty Shearwater, Iceland Gull and Pomarine Skua. Brixham had a Velvet Scoter, Glaucous Gull, Iceland Gull, 14 Great Northern Divers, two Eiders, two Pomarine Skuas and a Black Guillemot. A Dusky Warbler was at Exwick. Dawlish had two Slavonian Grebes, a Red-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver. Goodringto­n had an Iceland Gull and Scaup. Budleigh Salterton had 100 Common Scoters and a Velvet Scoter.

THURLESTON­E BAY: Highlights included four Common Scoters, a Mandarin, nine Red-throated Divers, a Black-throated Diver, three Great Northern Divers, 171 Gannets, a Fulmar, Merlin, 29 Oystercatc­hers, eight Ringed Plovers, a Dunlin, 14 Snipe, six Black-tailed Godwits, 30 Curlews, a Common Sandpiper, two Greenshank­s, seven Redshanks, 16 Turnstones, a Lesser Yellowlegs, Great Skua, 170 Kittiwakes, four Mediterran­ean Gulls, a Firecrest, 16 Chiffchaff­s, a few Siberian Chiffchaff­s, a Black Redstart, 20 Rock Pipits and two Water Pipits.
