HIGHLIGHTS: Cambridges­hire’s first Dusky Warbler was at Aldreth (11th-15th). Four Glossy Ibises were at Earith (from 4th) and three at Fen Drayton Lakes (to 22nd). Two were at Berry Fen (26th), with singles at Great Shelford (1st), Woodston (2nd) and Chesterton Fen (from 24th). Twelve Tundra Bean Geese were on the Ouse Washes at the end of December and five at Haslingfie­ld (1st). Singles were at Wimpole Hall Park (from 10th) and Orwell (31st).

Smew were at Needingwor­th Quarry Lakes, Ferry Meadows and Paxton Pits. Grafham Water held four Great Northern Divers, a Scaup and three Common Scoters. An Iceland Gull roosted regularly at Dernford Farm Reservoir and was seen around Heydon and Fowlmere. It showed characteri­stics of a Kumlien’s Gull. Two Iceland Gulls were at Tanholt GP at the end of the month.
