EYEBROOK RESERVOIR: There were 13 White-fronted Geese (1st), a pair of Smew (1st-20th), up to 24 White-fronted Geese (5th-15th), a Pink-footed Goose (6th), a Mediterran­ean Gull (12th), three drake Smew (25th) with one (28th), five Smew (29th), seven Smew (30th) and a site record of 41 Ruff (30th).

OTHER SITES: A redhead Smew was at Swithland Reservoir (1st-28th). Stanford Reservoir had a drake Scaup and four Black-necked Grebes (1st-12th), with a pair of Bearded Tits throughout, two Whooper Swans over (12th), and a Jack Snipe (20th). A Hawfinch went over Groby Pool (7th) with one there (20th), with a White-fronted Goose there (18th).

A presumed Siberian Chiffchaff was along the Welland in Market Harborough early in the month. A White-fronted Goose was at Thornton (12th-22nd). Five White-fronted Geese were at Longmoor Lake (14th-19th), with a female Ferruginou­s Duck/Pochard hybrid there (15th-16th). A Ring-necked Duck at Staunton Harold Reservoir occasional­ly strayed into the county (17th-19th). A flock of 200-plus Pink-footed Geese went over Oakham (22nd). A Brambling was in a garden at Dadlington (28th). A juvenile Iceland Gull went over Grimston (30th). A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Watermead CP (31st).
