WORCESTERS­HIRE

AVON VALLEY: Lower Moor held up to 30 White-fronted Geese, a Brent Goose (24th), and a Jack Snipe and four Great White Egrets (26th). An Iceland Gull (from 15th), two Yellow-legged Gulls and two Caspian Gulls were at Throckmort­on Tip. Sixteen Whitefront­s flew over Evesham (22nd). A Marsh Harrier was at Gwen Finch (1st) with a Hen Harrier over John Bennett (4th). There were 21 Corn Buntings near Evesham (14th).

CENTRAL: A Black Redstart spent the month at Worcester Cathedral. Two Ring-necked Parakeets were at Cherry Orchard.

GRIMLEY: Two Great White Egrets were joined by a third (29th). A Marsh Harrier flew over Camp Lane Pits (10th), with two Goldeneyes there.

LOWER SEVERN VALLEY: Ripple held seven Great White Egrets, a Great Northern Diver (5th-9th), Common Sandpiper, Pintail and Oystercatc­her. Four Great White Egrets were at Clifton Pits (1st-14th), along with 14 Little Egrets, two Whooper Swans (1st), a Brent Goose (30th), Merlin (31st) and two Green Sandpipers. Two Green Sandpipers were at Ryall. Longdon Marsh logged 143 Pintails and a Brambling. Kempsey SWT had a Siberian Chiffchaff (from 6th) with two (9th-12th). A Short-eared Owl was recorded at Wellington GP (30th).

NORTH: A large mixed bunting/finch flock near Woodrow attracted ten Corn Buntings, Bramblings and a Merlin along with an unconfirme­d report of Twite (14th). Two Goldeneyes were at Tardebigge Reservoir (2nd). Two Hawfinches were near Uffmoor (20th). Crossbills were at Eymore Wood (20) and Lickey’s Hills (six). Merlins were at Stone (6th) and Shenstone (26th).
