GREATER MANCHESTER

- ELTON RESERVOIR: The Scaup remained throughout. A Jack Snipe flew over (13th).

HIGHLIGHTS: There was a report of a Rough-legged Buzzard at Doodfield (30th). Two Snow Buntings were on Horwich Moors (1st). Two Caspian Gulls were on Audenshaw Reservoirs (5th-30th), with others at Pennington Flash (10th) and Atherton (31st).

PENNINGTON FLASH: There was a Common Scoter (1st-3rd), an Iceland Gull (10th and 31st), two Yellow-legged Gulls, three Mediterran­ean Gulls and a wintering Bittern.

OTHER SITES: A Short-eared Owl was at

Hindley Green (10th-15th), with two on Winter Hill (20th). Two Red-breasted Mergansers were at Piethorne Reservoir (13th-15th), with another at Ogden Reservoir on and off (14th-28th). A Scaup was on High Rid Reservoir (15th). Audenshaw Reservoirs logged a Jack Snipe (1st), Green Sandpiper (29th), four Yellow-legged Gulls and a Mediterran­ean Gull. Manchester Mosslands held a Greenland White-fronted Goose (2nd), a Merlin and two Peregrines.
