HIGHLIGHTS: A Great Northern Diver on Loch Mahaick (5th) was the first for the area in four years. Slavonian Grebes were on Gartmorn Dam (5th) and Carron Valley Reservoir (15th). A Marsh Harrier flew over Longcarse (5th). A Smew was on Gartmorn Dam (27th).

CLACKMANNA­NSHIRE: A Mediterran­ean Gull was around Longcarse (12th). There were 1,296 Teal at Tullibody Inch (15th). Two Pochards and two Scaup were on Gartmorn Dam (20th). Fifteen Jack Snipe, 120 Snipe and five Woodcocks were at Blackdevon Wetlands (21st). A Long-eared Owl was at Cambus (23rd). Three Barnacle Geese were on Longcarse (24th).

FALKIRK DISTRICT: Bean Geese at Slamannan peaked at 190. Skinflats had 21 Pochards, 417 Lapwings, a Mediterran­ean Gull (23rd), five Whooper Swans, 163 Pintails, two Scaup, ten Grey Plovers, a Merlin (29th) and 14 Woodcocks plus 52 Snipe (7th). A Pintail was on Larbert Hospital ponds (12th). A Whimbrel was at Higgin’s Neuk (13th). A Little Egret and Barnacle Goose were at Powfoulis (28th). A Little Egret, six Scaup, 400 Golden Plovers, 600 Black-tailed Godwits, three Bar-tailed Godwits and four Greenshank­s were at Kinneil (27th).

STIRLING DISTRICT: A Hen Harrier was in the Buckieburn area (7th). Two Jack Snipe were near Doune (8th). A Little Egret was by the Allan Water near Kinbuck (13th). A Jack Snipe was at Ashfield Pool (23rd), with 61 Whooper Swans flying over (24th). A Scaup was on Loch Dochart (24th). A Gadwall was on Loch Watston and two Black Grouse near Strathyre (28th).

UPPER FORTH ESTUARY: A co-ordinated count produced a Red-throated Diver, 35 Great Crested Grebes, 2,300 Pinkfeet, two Barnacle Geese, 572 Shelducks, 306 Wigeon, a Gadwall, 1,120 Teal, 187 Pintails, 41 Red-breasted Mergansers, a Little Egret, 110 Oystercatc­hers, 97 Golden Plovers, 536 Lapwings, 2,006 Knot, 2,856 Dunlin, a Jack Snipe, 430 Black-tailed Godwits, 172 Bar-tailed Godwits, 373 Curlews, 1,836 Redshanks, two Greenshank­s, two Guillemots and three Peregrines.
