HIGHLIGHTS: The American Wigeon was last seen at Kempston Hardwick (1st). A Smew was at Broom GP (28th). The Scaup remained at Grovebury SP (to 10th), Poppy Hill Lake (to 10th) and Brogboroug­h Lake (to 14th). White-fronted Geese included 18 at Blunham Lake, 24 at Priory CP and Great Barford GP and 25 over Willington GP (1st). The last was at Marston Vale Millennium CP (23rd). Pinkfeet were at Broom GP (22nd), Great Barford GP (11th) and Blunham Lake (12th).

BERKSHIRE

HIGHLIGHTS: The Pink-footed Goose remained at Padworth, and was joined by two

White-fronted Geese (from 12th). A further 18 Whitefront­s were seen at various sites around Hurst (from 13th). Fifty Brent Geese were seen from Lea Farm (1st). The Bittern at White Swan and Lavell’s Lakes was seen several times. Lesser Spotted Woodpecker­s were at Wokingham (3rd) and Beenham (19th). Four Siberian Chiffchaff­s were at Sandhurst (17th-19th). BUCKINGHAM­SHIRE

HIGHLIGHTS: The Great Northern Diver remained at Caldecotte Lake (to 9th). A Glossy Ibis was at Latimer (23rd-26th). A Bewick’s Swan was at Monks Risborough (28th). A Whooper Swan flew along the river at Castlethor­pe (25th). A Pink-footed Goose was at Eythrope (15th and 21st), with 11 Whitefront­s near Wilstone (7th and 11th) and a Brent Goose at Langley Park (1st). A Cattle Egret was at Pitstone Hill (28th). A

Red- breasted Merganser was at Stowe (6th). A Marsh Harrier was at Linford GP (4th) and Floodplain Forest (5th). A Black-tailed Godwit was at Newport Pagnell GP and Willen Lake (26th). A Short- eared Owl circled over Little Marlow GP (6th). The Black Redstart remained at Whitehouse, Milton Keynes.

BRADWELL NEW WORKINGS:

Great White Egrets, a Ruddy There Shelduck were two (5th), Goosander Pochards and (21st-22nd), two Green four Sandpipers. Red- crested

FLOODPLAIN FOREST: Highlights were two Great White Egrets, eight Pintails (17th), 14 Goosanders, the first returning Oystercatc­her (28th) and a Ruddy Shelduck (5th).

LINFORD GP: Highlights were a Bittern, three Great White Egrets, a Ruddy Shelduck, ten Pintails (8th-9th), a Goldeneye (4th- 6th) and two Goosanders (4th).

LITTLE MARLOW GP: Highlights were a Great White Egret, two Goldeneyes, two Goosanders (16th-30th) and four Caspian Gulls.

OTHER SITES: A Bittern was at Calvert BBOWT Lake. Four Red- crested Pochards were at Foxcote Reservoir. Nine Pintails were there, with four at College Lake and singles at

Magna Park and Willen Lake North. One or two Jack Snipe were at seven sites. A Redshank was at Willen Lake North (12th). A Med Gull was at Jubilee River (12th and 17th). Yellow- legged Gulls were at Ashland (5th) and Foxcote Reservoir (1st). Eight were at Newton Leys, along with three Caspian Gulls. A Tree Sparrow was at Castlethor­pe. Two Hawfinches were at Great Hampden, with three at Latimer and singles at Baldwin’s Wood, Great Missenden and Wendover. A Merlin was at Wapseys Wood (3rd). Up to three Great White Egrets were at 13 sites. Bramblings included 1,000 at Back Wood, Milton Keynes (9th) and 400 at Flackwell Heath, along with 1,000 Linnets (5th). HAMPSHIRE

BLASHFORD LAKES: The Ferruginou­s Duck remained. The Red- crested Pochard on Ibsley North Lake also ventured to Ivy Lake and Ibsley Water. The returning Ring- billed Gull and five Yellow- legged Gulls roosted on Ibsley Water. There were two Great White Egrets, a Bittern, 21 Goosanders, eight Goldeneyes, a Green Sandpiper and Marsh Harrier. Siberian Chiffchaff­s were at Ivy Lake and Snail’s Lake.

LANGSTONE HARBOUR: Four Glossy Ibises moved between Farlington Marshes and Warblingto­n. Farlington also had 40 Avocets and three Marsh Harriers. Langstone Harbour had a Long-tailed Duck, 14 Goldeneyes, five Goosanders, 37 Red- breasted Mergansers, a Slavonian Grebe, eight Black- necked Grebes, a Red-throated Diver and Black-throated Diver. Ten Cattle Egrets were at Warblingto­n. The Spotted Redshank remained at Emsworth. A Great White Egret was at Bedhampton. Hayling Island had a Velvet Scoter, two Slavonian Grebes, Red-throated Diver, three Black-throated Divers and two Great Northern Divers. A Hen Harrier was around Chichester Harbour.

LYMINGTON-KEYHAVEN MARSHES: Spoonbills on the Lymington Estuary peaked at 12, with another at Pennington Marsh. Three Slavonian Grebes were offshore. Efford Lake had a Black- necked Grebe and three White-fronted Geese. Six Goosanders were off Pennington. Normandy Marsh had eight

Goldeneyes, 41 Gannets, a Little Stint, 17 Avocets, seven Ruff, three Spotted Redshanks, six Greenshank­s, four Marsh Harriers and a couple of Merlins. Hurst Castle had a Black Redstart and four Purple Sandpipers.

TITCHFIELD HAVEN-WARSASH: A Glossy Ibis roamed the area. A Yellow- browed Warbler and Snow Bunting were at Hook-withWarsas­h. Titchfield Haven had a Bittern, 17 Jack Snipe, three Marsh Harriers, a Siberian Chiffchaff, Cattle Egret and Water Pipit. Hill Head logged 63 Eiders, eight Velvet Scoters, six Common Scoters, six Goosanders, two Slavonian Grebes, five Red-throated Divers and a Great Northern Diver. A Little Gull was off Solent Breezes. A Wheatear was at Lee- on-the- Solent. Black Redstarts were at Stubbingto­n, Ranvilles Lane and

Lee- on-the- Solent.

OTHER SITES: A Richard’s Pipit was at Newnham. Six Glossy Ibises flew over Broadlands Lake. Another was at Lower Test, along with a Cattle Egret. A Cattle Egret was at Sowley. There were 14 Spoonbills in the Beaulieu Estuary. A Leach’s Petrel was off Netley. Southampto­n Water had a Black-throated Diver and three Great Northern Divers. A Black Redstart was at Woolston. Black-throated Divers were off Barton- on- Sea and Gilkicker. A Great Grey Shrike remained in the Backley Bottom area.

Hen Harriers were at Shatterfor­d and Bratley Plain. Merlins were more widespread. Fishlake Meadows had a Bittern, two Great White Egrets and three Marsh Harriers. There were five Marsh Harriers and two Water Pipits at Alresford Pond. Two Whitefront­s were at the Vyne. Jack Snipe included 17 at the Vyne and ten at Newnham. There were two Siberian Chiffchaff­s at Eastleigh SF and three at Darby Green. Black Redstarts were at Centurion Business Park and Fawley Power Station. A Wheatear was in Southampto­n Docks.

HIGHLIGHTS: A Serin was at Woodoaks Farm, Maple Cross (from 27th). A Kumlien’s Gull was at Melbourne and Royston (8th). The 11 White-fronted Geese remained at Wilstone Reservoir (to 13th). A Scaup was at Ashley Pit, Turnford (1st). A Smew was at Amwell throughout, with another at Frogmore Lakes near St Albans (20th). Hawfinches included ten at Bramfield and 11 at Symondshyd­e Great Wood.

KENT

HIGHLIGHTS: A Hume’s Leaf Warbler was at St Margaret’s at Cliffe throughout. Worth Marsh had a White Stork, two Bewick’s Swans, two Water Pipits, a Hen Harrier, and Great White Egret (26th-28th). The Siberian Lesser Whitethroa­t remained at Sandwich Bay (3rd). Cliffe Pools had a Glossy Ibis (3rd-16th) and Ring- necked Duck (28th-31st). A Glossy Ibis was at Grain (11th), with 11 at Sandwich Bay (14th), and singles at Pegwell Bay (19th) and Yantlett Creek (19th-30th). Dungeness RSPB had two Glossy Ibises (4th-31st), five Cattle Egrets, two Slavonian Grebes (19th) and 36 Bewick’s Swans (30th). Up to seven Shore Larks were at Leysdown- on- Sea (4th-31st) and Warden Point (15th-16th). A Black Brant was at Reculver (6th-24th). Two Dartford Warblers were there (22nd), with others at Hoo St Werburgh (12th-20th) and Oare Marshes (22nd-23rd). A Dusky Warbler was at Fordwich (6th-30th). A Sabine’s Gull was off North Foreland (31st).

LONDON

HIGHLIGHTS: The Foots Cray Little Bunting and the Barnes Bittern, Water Pipit and Jack Snipe remained. King Georges Reservoir had a regular Great Northern Diver, Red- necked Grebe and Scaup. Black Redstarts were at Erith (8th), King Georges Reservoir (9th and 18th), Finchley (17th), Hammersmit­h (25th) and Barnes (30th). Dartford Warblers were at Bushy Park (3rd), Richmond (17th) and Wimbledon (22nd). Hawfinches were at Totteridge (13th) and Harold Hill (15th).

Russian White-fronted Geese were at Crossness (1st), Dagenham (6th) and Camberwell (12th). Smew were at Barnes (3rd), Heathrow (11th) and King Georges Reservoir (22nd). Siberian Chiffchaff­s were at Mitcham (7th and 20th), and Beckton and Creekmouth (30th). Walthamsto­w had Black- necked Grebes (5th and 30th), a Dusky Warbler (1st-7th and 9th) and Scaup (30th). Southgate had a Hooded Merganser (5th- 6th and 14th). There was a Rock Pipit at King Georges Reservoir (18th) and Water Pipit at Hackbridge (1st- 4th and 23rd). Richmond had a Ruddy Shelduck (26th). A Lesser Whitethroa­t was at Highbury (30th).

HIGHLIGHTS: Dartford Warblers were at Godalming (1st) and Eashing Fields (14th). Three Cattle Egrets were at Hersham GP (1st-5th). A Ring- necked Duck was at Priory Pond, Reigate. Holmethorp­e Sand Pits had a Ring- necked Duck (15th) and Glossy Ibis (26th). Hawfinches were at Ranmore Common (two on 16th), Effingham Forest (20 on 7th), Wrecclesha­m (7th) and Sheepleas (two on 16th). Two Russian White-fronted Geese were at Westfield (2nd), with singles at North Holmwood (3rd) and Dorking (5th-30th). A Jack Snipe was at Shalford Water Meadows (2nd). Thorpe Park had a Scaup (3rd-20th) and Ferruginou­s Duck (10th-31st). Bitterns were at Frensham Little Pond (4th-29th) and Hedgecourt Lake (15th-16th). Mercers CP had a Caspian Gull (3rd-10th) and Ring-necked Duck (16th). Island Barn Reservoir had a Brent Goose (5th) and Scaup (25th).

SUSSEX

EAST SUSSEX: Pett Level had a Glossy Ibis (14th). A Hume’s Leaf Warbler was at Eastbourne (15th-30th). Shore Larks were at Pevensey (16th-23rd) and Norman’s Bay (20th-26th). A White Stork circled Rye (17th).

WEST SUSSEX: The Little Bunting remained at Iping Common (to 17th). A Glossy Ibis was at Pagham Harbour (16th-28th), with two there (29th), and six (30th). Others were at Sidlesham Village (17th-18th) and Arundel (23rd-27th).
