Q: spring or autumn – which is best?

It’s the competition that birders everywhere have been waiting for: which season really is best for birding? Spring brings summer visitors back to our shores and a whole host of exciting breeding behaviour. Autumn delivers the numbers, though, as birds begin to head south for warmer climes, offering the promise of dreamedfor rarities. We put forward the case for both seasons.
