Wader Conservation World Watch 2021
ORGANISED by shorebird protection charity, Wader Quest, Wader Conservation World Watch takes place on the first weekend of November. This year it runs over 6-7 November.
The aim of the event is to highlight waders and the problems they are facing across the planet, as well as to celebrate the people involved, either professionally or voluntarily, in their conservation. Taking part is easy and the event is open to everyone anywhere in the world.
All you have to do is go out over the weekend to watch shorebirds. Make a note of what you saw, where and with whom and then share this information with Wader Quest. Photos are very welcome if you have them. You can send your records to wcww@waderquest.net or share your eBird lists with user name WaderQuestTeam. The organisers will then send out a special newsletter detailing all species seen, and where, plus a roll of honour of all those who took part. ■
