Birdwatch

Another one?

-

A Long-toed Stint appeared in a private area of Rockcliffe Marsh, Cumbria, on 23-24 November. Photos are inconclusive in terms of ageing, but the observer felt it most likely a first-calendaryear and therefore not the well-twitched West Yorkshire adult of October – it’s amazing to think that, after a 40-year wait, two would appear just weeks apart.

Unfortunately, though, despite access being arranged, there would be no further sign of this attractive East Asian wanderer. ■
