Carbon excuse

I am in total agreement with everything in Dominic Mitchell’s column regarding the demise of the Birdfair ( Birdwatch 355: 19).

The issue about carbon footprint is, sometimes, overstated.

LRWT mentions this in its report as one of the reasons for ending the event. Surely there has to be some sort of trade-off against the massive financial contributions to wildlife conservation and raising its awareness to the masses? Hugh Wood, via email
