Hooray for Hollywood Monster

Graphics and digital print company Hollywood Monster is sponsoring the property category of the Birmingham Post Business Awards 2015

BIRMINGHAM-BASED Hollywood Monster, one of the UK’s leading graphics and digital print specialists, is proud to support once again the Property category of the Birmingham Post’s Business Awards.

It’s a sector that the company works with very closely and it is clear that the past 12 months have been an exciting time for West Midlands’ property businesses.

Confidence has returned and it is a thriving and vibrant sector. Property companies across the region have celebrated a range of superb deals over the past year, deals that are bringing jobs to our cities and towns, contributing towards muchneeded economic security and inward investment.

Tim Andrews, managing director of Tyseley-based Hollywood Monster, said he was delighted to show his support for those stand-out property companies in our region.

“It takes great determination and vision to make a difference in the business world,” he said. “We are committed to growing our company and enjoy working alongside a wide range of successful firms that are also doing their utmost to invest and take the opportunities that are offered.”

Originally called Hollywood Signs and launched in 1991, the company changed its name to Hollywood Monster in 2009 with the merging its two sister companies, Hollywood Signs and Digital Monster. Understanding the importance of investment and staff development has seen the company continue to experience strong and steady growth over the past 24 years.

It offers a bespoke first-class service from design and consultancy through to project management and installation, and provides employment for more than 70 staff. It also offers opportunities for apprentices and students, and contributes to the region through a very active CSR agenda.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard to diversify and break into new market sectors and are winning contracts in new sectors that are providing exciting opportunities to develop and grow the business,” explained Tim. “We do not sit back and bask in our success – we are determined to ensure that Hollywood Monster remains the go-to company for innovative signs and digital print.”

The firm has ambitious plans in place to grow further, plus maintain and improve performance, by identifying niches in the market and investing in staff development.

However, staying ahead of competition by ensuring the company offers customers the best possible service using the latest technologies with as little impact on the environment as possible, is also a priority.

Tim and his fellow directors have invested heavily in creating a very strong brand and work tirelessly to make sure the name is remembered for all the right reasons.

Turnover has rapidly increased over the past couple of years and now stands at more than £6 million after a series of major contract wins with commercial and residential property developers, major retailers, shopping centres, theatrical events, exhibitions and others.

Its product range is vast, ranging from point of sale through to digitally printed products such as wallpaper, exhibition stands, banners, flex faces, sporting perimeter signs, floor graphics and enormous scaffold and building wraps as well as project boards, hoardings, health and safety signs, road signs, vehicle graphics, office and factory fit out signage.

A major factor in Hollywood Monster’s ability to deliver some of the country’s largest and most creative signage and graphics solutions is its continuous investment in machinery, including a Zund G3 Router, a HP Latex machine, a new HP Revolution roll to roll, a new 3m x 2m flatbed Vutek machine with white print capability and a metal and plastic fabrication facility to enable the company to extend its service offering.

This significant investment in machinery at its 30,000 sq ft headquarters has enabled it to undertake a range of large-scale and innovative projects, including the creation of some of Europe’s largest banners for the London 2012 Olympics for retail giants Westfield as part of a £1 million-plus project.

It has also allowed the company to widen its portfolio of projects across all markets, particularly with a wide range of companies in the property industry.

For Tim, though, it is not just the excellent work that Hollywood Monster produces that gets the team known; it’s also its emphasis on fun, fundraising and corporate responsibility.

The company is an official partner to Matrix Fitness – a pro-cycling ladies team that includes Olympians Lucy Trott and Elinor Barker and is at the forefront of the development of the women’s sport in the UK. Through its commitment, it sponsors 17-year-old Solihull cyclist Lucy Shaw in the team, who has recently clinched victory in the National Championships during her first season with a pro-team.

Hollywood Monster has also sponsored Birmingham City Football Club Ladies’ team for several seasons – including the year when they won the Women’s FA Cup 2011/12.

It is also heavily involved in charity work, having helped to raise more than £135,000 for West Midlands charities through a cycling challenge and has been actively involved in a number of events that have raised more than £750,000 over the past few years.
