Kew Green opens Ibis Styles at NEC

-

HOTEL management company Kew Green has opened its latest venture – an Ibis Styles at the NEC in Solihull.

The site is the second hotel managed by Kew Green to open its doors under the Ibis Styles banner following a launch in Crewe earlier this month. The company said the theming of the new hotel took inspiration from Birmingham’s role as a major transport hub such as Spaghetti Junction being re-imagined as a yellow design on the carpets.

Vintage prints of Birmingham’s industrial history also adorn the walls and the bar is styled in the shape of an aeroplane wing.

Regional general manager Alison Harrison said: “We wanted to combine our location at the heart of England with the fact that Birmingham is a real travel hub and a historic industrial force.

“And with our location so close to the NEC we’re the perfect spot for exhibitors to get a good night’s sleep before the big day.”

Graham Norris, director of operations for managed hotels at Kew Green, added: “Birmingham is a city known for its eclectic mix of sights, sounds and people, with strong transport and industrial connections and we therefore felt it was only right we paid homage to this in the design of the hotel.

“The new site allows us to continue our partnership with Ibis Styles and link our strong management credentials with the distinctive design ethos of Ibis.”
