Orbis plays a key role in merger

-

BIRMINGHAM-based corporate finance advisory firm Orbis Partners has acted on the merger deal between Tournus Équipement and CED Fabrications.

The companies, based in Burgundy and Accrington respectively, operate in the catering manufacturing industry, offering complementary products.

Tournus Équipement identified the merger with CED Fabrications as an opportunity to grow their product portfolio.

Orbis Partners worked alongside its international partner Clairfield France on the deal.

Chris Gregory, who advised Tournus Équipement on the deal negotiations and execution in the UK, said: “We were delighted to advise on this transaction working with our French Partners in Clairfield International.

“This is a further demonstration of the strength of our International capabilities in cross-border M&A.”

Legal advice to the management team was provided by Peter McLintock at Mills & Reeve Birmingham.

Mr McLintock added: “Orbis and Mills & Reeve have collaborated on a number of occasions to help overseas clients gain a foothold in the UK. The UK’s vote to leave the EU unfolded during the later stages of the transaction and, while Brexit caused us a few sleepless nights, ultimately the outcome didn’t affect the merger due to the strong will and dedication of all parties involved.”

Legal advice to CED Fabrications was provided by DLA Piper alongside adviser BDO.
