Opening date for The Ivy restaurant revealed

THE long-awaited opening the famous Ivy restaurant mingham has been revealed.

The group behind the worldfamou­s restaurant will open in the former Louis Vuitton boutique in Temple Row on Wednesday, April 11.

It will be one of the most anticipate­d culinary dates in Birmingham after the news was first revealed last year.

The restaurant date of in Bir- will be decorated in The Ivy’s signature green colour with contrastin­g burnt orange seating and polished marble floors.

It will cater for 135 diners and have a private dining room to seat a further 20 people.

The company said the brasserie will have a focus on accessibil­ity as well as glamour.

Although The Ivy recommends restaurant-goers book a table, it will also hold back a certain number of covers each day for walk-in diners.

It will open early morning and late evenings seven days a week, serving an all-day menu of breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, cocktails, weekend brunches and dinner.

Laura Bamber, operations manager for The Ivy Collection, said: “With a food scene as strong Birmingham’s, the city is the perfect location for The Ivy Collection, and we’re excited to open here later this spring.

“As Temple Row is situated right in the heart of the business district, we hope to become part of the local community.”

Meanwhile, award-winning restaurant The Wilderness is due to open a new place inside a former building society in nearby Bennetts Hill. It closed its venue in Dudley Street last December to move into the more prominent position.

Cuban cocktail bar and cantina Revolucion de Cuba has also opened in nearby Temple Street.
