Let’s keep pressing our Channel 4 case
DEAR Editor, I read with interest Mike Bradley’s article in the Post (March 15), regarding the announcement made by Channel 4 about plans to work more closely with the regions.
I share his disappointment at the content of their announcement.
However, this is the first public announcement that Channel 4 has made.
The management team of Channel 4 would not be making any announcement along these lines had it not been for the fact that it has been forced to do so by the Government.
There would be even greater benefits if Birmingham/West Midlands becomes the second HQ for Channel 4.
The compelling, coherent and passionate campaign from our region has not been matched, even remotely, by any other city or region within the UK.
Therefore, you would hope the Channel 4 management already recognise this and not only pick Birmingham as being a base for one of the regional hubs, but also the natural home for their second HQ.
