QWhat is a ‘workplace user experience’, and why is it important to my company?

AAS boundaries become blurred between work and home, there’s more pressure on our offices to deliver more than ever before. It’s not a surprise that the office is now a major factor for candidates deciding on a new role.

Potential employees will be evaluating your entire workplace user experience; from the office itself, to your policies around flexible working and your company culture.

Therefore the workplace “user experience” is about creating an environment where people want to go to work, supported by an engaging culture. These are crucial to attract and retain your industry’s best talent.

Retention and attraction are cornerstones in most clients’ workplace strategy. Coupled with falling unemployment rates, there’s a ‘war for talent’, where skilled employees are able to pick the company, culture and workplace that suits them best.

In order to keep your staff happy and engaged with your business, it’s crucial to provide them with an inspiring workplace, along with the choice of where and when to work. Investing pays off in the long run – it’s proven that happier employees are up to 12 per cent more productive! (According to a 2014 Warwick University study).

The best way to create a unique workplace user experience is simple – ask the people who use it every day. Asking your staff the right questions will give you an inside edge on what makes them tick – letting you create a workplace where they love to come to every day.
