Former Bigwood chief develops new business
ARESIDENTIAL property specialist in Birmingham has launched his own business. Brett Williams, who was the head of residential property management at agency and auction house SDL Bigwood in Birmingham, has founded Principle Estate Management.
The agency will offer a national property management service, predominantly to modern residential apartment buildings and traditional blocks of flats from a new office in Lionel Street in Birmingham city centre.
He said the new business would be “strong on tech” to take away mundane chores and to automate routine processes, freeing up staff to communicate with clients on a daily basis.
He added: “Our focus will be on modern residential apartment developments and traditional blocks of flats but we will also be managing mixed-use developments with both residential and commercial occupiers and private residential housing estates.
“Additionally, the firm will be managing portfolios of rented properties for investor clients.”
Mr Williams was previously a partner with Curry & Partners until its merger with Bigwood in 2011 to create CP Bigwood and subsequent sale in 2015 to Shepherd Direct to create SDL Bigwood. He was responsible for growing the residential property management portfolio from 4,000 units to 25,000.
He was also chairman of the Association of Residential Managing Agents for three years from until 2010.
During his career, Mr Williams has managed some of the highest profile developments in the Midlands and across the UK.
His professional experience also includes involvement with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a committee member and latterly sat on its residential management working group for the maximum term of office.
