Clearabee in signs 3-year Co-op waste contract deal
BIRMINGHAM-BASED on-demand rubbish removal business Clearabee has won a three-year, multimillion-pound contract to provide waste services to the Co-op.
Clearabee has been appointed to handle all unplanned waste removal requirements for the group’s retail and funeral businesses across the UK, encompassing 2,500 retail stores and 1,000 funeral homes.
The Jewellery Quarter-based business said the contract win was one of its biggest commercial deals with in excess of 5,000 on-demand anticipated waste collections a year.
Requests will be serviced by the firm’s in-house team of 250 people and fleet of 100 vehicles located across the UK.
Founder and managing director Daniel Long said: “This deal further demonstrates our ability to serve major retail organisations at scale and we are delighted to have been appointed by the Co-op.
“Our innovative approach and nationwide reach means we can respond rapidly and efficiently to the Co-op’s waste removal requests, and cut its cost associated with removing unplanned rubbish.”
Abbie Case, senior contract manager for the Co-op’s property arm, added: “Co-op is delighted to be working with Clearabee.
“As a well known brand in the retail industry, we need to work with organisations that we can rely on, Clearabee has proven to us that it can support our business reliably, at scale and precisely when and where we need them to.”
