Woman went missing on day of sibling’s wedding 2 years ago

- Andy Richardson Staff Reporter

THIS is the poignant picture of six sisters enjoying a hen-do – before one of them went missing more than two years ago.

The family of Louise Cousins cherish the picture, taken on November 30, 2016, at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, Sutton Coldfield.

It was the last time they saw her and to this day they have no idea about her whereabouts.

It was taken at the hen-do of Cassandra Byrne, one of six sisters from Sutton Coldfield after Louise, who was living in Sheffield at the time, surprised the bride-to-be by making an unexpected appearance.

A video was also taken of Cassandra and Louise embracing.

Louise went missing on the day of her sister’s wedding on December 3, 2016. She contacted her elder sibling, Zakalin Sloly, on the day of the wedding, which was held at Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham city centre, and was excited about coming down for the big day.

But as the family waited for her arrival she never turned up

ouise, aged 34, remains missing more than two years later, despite online appeals.

The family say they have also contacted police but claim they have “shown no interest” in their pleas for help.

Zakalin, aged 45, said: “The video is heartbreaking to watch. It is such a lovely moment but tinged with sadness as that was the final time

Lwe saw her. She has been missing for more than two years now. It is just totally baffling. “Sometimes we wouldn’t hear from Louise for a couple of months at a time. But never longer than that. “I spoke to Louise on the day of Cassandra’s wedding and she was excited about coming down. She had lost her bank card so I transferred £50 into her account for her train ticket. “We waited for her to arrive but she never did. It was heartbreaking for Cassandra not to have Louise at the wedding.” She added: “We thought she would be in touch later in the week . with an explanation but she never did get in touch.

“We contacted her workplace and they said she hadn’t turned up for work. She was a carer for people with mental health problems and loved her work. It is just so out of character for her.

“There had been no family arguments, nothing like that.

“She moved to Sheffield from Sutton Coldfield about ten years ago. We have made enquiries up there but have drawn a blank.

“No one knows what pened to her.”

Zakalin said they still had hopes of trying to get Louise reunited with the family in time for Christmas.

She said: “The family are worried sick about her. We just want to make sure she is ok. It is like she has just vanished off the face of the earth.” has hap-
