City murder probe after OAP’s death

DETECTIVES have named a pensioner who died in hospital six days after being found injured at his home in Birmingham.

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of 69-year-old Robert Morrison, who was a wheelchair user, on Sunday, December 16.

He had told neighbours that he had been assaulted and robbed in his home in Grove Road, Kings Heath, at around 11.30pm on December 10.

A post-mortem examination was carried out but proved inconclusive, police said.

Two men, both aged 18, have been charged with robbery and have been remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance next month.
