City mur­der probe af­ter OAP’s death

DE­TEC­TIVES have named a pen­sioner who died in hos­pi­tal six days af­ter be­ing found in­jured at his home in Birm­ing­ham.

A mur­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion has been launched fol­low­ing the death of 69-year-old Robert Mor­ri­son, who was a wheel­chair user, on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 16.

He had told neigh­bours that he had been as­saulted and robbed in his home in Grove Road, Kings Heath, at around 11.30pm on De­cem­ber 10.

A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion was car­ried out but proved in­con­clu­sive, po­lice said.

Two men, both aged 18, have been charged with rob­bery and have been re­manded in cus­tody ahead of a fur­ther court ap­pear­ance next month.
