AN experienced retail industry manager has been appointed to run the Bullring and Grand Central shopping centres in Birmingham.

Stephanie Lacey takes over as general manager from Michaela Moore who left the post in the autumn after four years.

Ms Lacey has more than 25 years of experience from aviation retail and premium outlets to launching and managing major retail destinations.

She was most recently general manager at Cabot Circus, in Bristol, which is also owned by retail property group Hammerson.

Ms Lacey said: “I am delighted to be appointed general manager for Bullring and Grand Central and my aim is to build on the success of the venue which has already changed the face of retail in the region and is a major part of Birmingham’s identity.

“I am excited to take on this challenge and am looking forward to working with a truly talented and dedicated team to deliver more firsts and an exceptional experience for our shoppers.”

Janet Bishopp, operations director for Hammerson, added: “Stephanie has been a brilliant ambassador for both Cabot Circus and Bristol and we are in no doubt that the drive and energy she brought to this role will be invaluable in her new role as general manager of one of Europe’s top retail destinations.

“Bullring and Grand Central has a bright future and Stephanie has the right talent and experience to ensure its success continues.”
