Former pub turned into petrol station

-

A FORMER pub site in north Birmingham has been transformed into a new petrol forecourt.

The new venture is run by Euro Garages and has an Esso petrol station and Spar convenience store.

The site, near Spaghetti Junction by the M6, was previously home to the Armada pub and purchased by the company in 2017. The new petrol station has created around 15 full- and part-time jobs.

Euro Garages, part of EG Group, was founded in 2001 with a single petrol station since when it has grown to around 370 sites across the UK, with thousands more in Europe and the US.

Barry Westley, regional manager at Euro Garages, said: “Located right next to one of the world’s most famous motorway intersections, this is an ideal site for us in a prominent area of the city.

“Our roadside offer, as well as that of our franchise partners, has proved incredibly popular and we are excited to be rolling out a modern roadside service for our customers in Birmingham.

“The employment opportunities created through this development are ideal for those living within walking distance of the site, for young people, students and those with other responsibilities who appreciate part-time employment.

“We are looking forward to welcoming customers to our newest development.”
