Council shamed by care workers case

DEAR Editor, Well done to Tom Dare on his article about Birmingham home care workers, ( Birmingham Post, December 27).

What came over so clearly is the warm heart of the care workers led by Mandy Buckley. What came over with the council for me was the cold anonymity of it all through their mouthpiece, “a Birmingham City Council spokesman...”

I have followed this dispute as well as the bin men’s dispute and what is clear in my eyes is that Birmingham City Council care little for the working people.

How on earth these councillors have the temerity to call themselves ‘Labour’ is beyond me and for those Labour councillors who support the care workers I would say why do you not resign on principle?

The point being that you surely cannot keep taking part in the treatment of these working people?

Then, councillors who claim to support the care workers, you can hold your heads up high.
