LUXURY car brand Jaguar Land Rover is backing the premier award at the 2019 Birmingham Post Business Awards.

The manufacturer is sponsoring Company of the Year, the top accolade at the awards which will recognise outstanding business excellence among all of the evening’s individual category winners.

Never far from the headlines, Jaguar Land Rover was again leading the local and national news agenda recently when it announced a long-term investment plan for its plant in Castle Bromwich.

The company is planning to completely revamp the site in north Birmingham and build three new electric vehicles, including a Jaguar XJ.

JLR is the UK’s largest automotive manufacturer, built around two legendary, iconic British brands – all-wheel drive vehicle Land Rover and sports marque Jaguar.

Last year, it sold almost 600,000 vehicles in 128 countries and supports around 260,000 people through its retailer network, suppliers and local businesses.

Its footprint in the West Midlands is substantial with factories in Birmingham, Solihull and Warwickshire, its award-winning Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton and head office in Whitley. It also has operations in Asia, Europe and South America.

Jamie Whitehead, operations director at the Jaguar plant in Castle Bromwich, said: “We are proud to once again support the Company of the Year category at the Birmingham Post Business Awards.

“The awards are a fantastic opportunity to showcase and celebrate the wealth of talent, creativity, enterprise and innovation that exists across the Midlands.

“The region is home to many

pioneering organisations and, as a business firmly rooted in the Midlands, Jaguar Land Rover is proud to honour the standout companies which play such a critical role in supporting our local economy and communities.”
