Barclays sponsors award that gives a little back
THE Birmingham Post Business Awards is delighted to welcome high street banking giant Barclays on board as a sponsor.
The bank is throwing its weight behind the city region’s corporations taking their extended social responsibilities seriously by sponsoring the CSR Project of the Year category – a new addition for 2019 to our annual awards.
The honour will recognise those businesses which have gone above and beyond with their corporate social responsibility, either through one-off projects or longterm, ongoing initiatives.
The annual awards will celebrate the region’s top companies and individuals across a broad range of different categories at a ceremony in Birmingham in September.
Barclays says it has a strong and longstanding commitment to managing the social impacts of its business and recognises its success is closely linked to that of the communities in which it works.
It says it can make the greatest positive impact by focusing on its core products, services and relationships. “We will continue to identify new opportunities to integrate these considerations into the work we do every day to help customers and clients, colleagues and society,” the bank said.
Lisa Webb, head of corporate relations for the West Midlands, said: “We’re really pleased to be involved in an initiative that showcases those companies in our region who work hard to support their local communities.
“It’s something that is very close to our hearts too.
“I’m sure the awards will further demonstrate the positive impact these companies are having on their local communities, their employees and the wider region.”
