Over £11k raised after the death of Keeley, 20

-

A FUNERAL fund for a Tamworth woman whose body was found in woodland, has raised more than £11,000.

Generous friends, families, former classmates and even strangers touched by the death of Keeley Bunker, pictured, have rallied together to donate more than £11,000.

The body of the 20-year-old was found in woodland in Tamworth last Thursday.

A sea of pink floral tributes and teddies was left at the cordoned-off scene in Roman Way in the wake of the discovery.

Her family launched a £5,000 GoFundMe appeal to help with funeral costs for their “wonderful sister, daughter and best friend”.

Despite fake fundraising sites being set up, the official fund has already more than doubled its goal. It had reached £11,427 by yesterday, just three days after launching.

One mum wrote: “We all should [donate], we all have children and it’s unfathomable that this could happen. My thoughts and love are with you and your family xxx”

Another said: “Our hearts feel saddened by the terrible news and we can’t even start to imagine how her parents and family feel.

“If by way of donating helps to ease some burden, then we’re happy to support and donate. R.I.P. Keeley. Much love to you all from David, Lisa, Olivia & Thomas Wileman xxx”

Kerry Armitt posted: “I’ve been so moved by this terrible tragedy. I have a 19-year-old daughter myself and can’t begin to imagine the pain your family are feeling after losing your beautiful Keeley. Donation from us as a family. We are thinking of you all. No words can describe my thoughts on this.”

Tracy Setchell added: “Having two daughters myself, I can’t imagine what you’re all going through. I’m so sorry. Fly high beautiful girl x.”

A 19-year-old man charged with murdering Ms Bunker is expected to face trial next year.

Wesley Streete, of no fixed address, did not enter a formal plea during a 15-minute hearing at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday, speaking only to confirm his name, date of birth and nationality as British.

Streete was remanded in custody by Recorder of Stafford Michael Chambers QC until a further hearing in December.

Staffordshire Police has said a post-mortem examination has taken place but further tests are required.
