Former Renault boss takes on top job at Jaguar Land Rover
JAGUAR Land Rover has welcomed a new chief executive after former boss Sir Ralf Speth stepped down.
Thierry Bolloré, pictured, who held a similar position at Renault, has taken over the reins of the West Midlands car manufacturer.
It follows the departure of Sir Ralf, who signed off after ten years at the helm of one of Britain’s biggest car makers.
Sir Ralf’s achievements were honoured with a knighthood in 2019. His achievements included tripling sales and creating more than 17,000 jobs in his first five years in charge. Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover, said: “I am delighted to welcome Thierry to Jaguar Land Rover.
“An established global business leader with a proven track record of implementing complex transformations, Thierry will bring a wealth of experience to one of the most revered positions in the industry.”
Paying tribute to his predecessor, Mr Chandrasekaran said: “I want to thank Ralf for a decade of outstanding vision and leadership for Jaguar Land Rover and welcome him to his new non-executive position in addition to his existing role on the board of Tata Sons.” On his LinkedIn page, Mr Bolloré said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Jaguar Land Rover as the company’s new CEO. “This is the start of an exciting new chapter for me. From what I have seen so far, it’s clear that the Jaguar Land Rover family is tremendously dynamic, innovative and full of energy.
“This is a great team and a formidable company. I have no doubt there’s a positive future ahead”.
