Far right using ‘anti-vax’ lies to harm ethnic communities
Covid vaccine conspiracies ‘targeted at BAME people by extremists’
FAR-RIGHT groups are believed to be peddling anti-Covid vaccine conspiracies among minority ethnic groups in a bid to harm them, it was claimed this week.
The disturbing lies could be discouraging people from black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups from seeking the jab, say city MPs Liam Byrne and Shabana Mahmood.
Ladywood MP Ms Mahmood (Labour) said: “Some people will hear the word ‘theory’ and think there’s something in it. I think bringing out that it is actually the far right, who want to wipe people like us out, who are behind this might be a way of reaching the communities that are affected.”
