APPLE WALKS THE TALK

APPLE has introduced an interesting new feature to its Fitness+ service – guided audio walks.

These are not just any old guided audio walks, though. They are celebrity guided audio walks. There are four episodes of the new initiative – which Apple is calling Time To Walk – available at launch with an eclectic collection of creators. Country superstar Dolly Parton, no less, is one contributor, as is musician Shawn Mendes. The other two walks come from Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba, star of Orange is the New Black, and NBA basketball star, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors. On each of the walks, which take roughly 30 minutes to complete, the creator tells stories from their lives designed to inspire and motivate. Images to illustrate the stories appear on Apple Watch at the right moment as you walk.

Once the episode is over the walk can be extended by listening to a playlist of music selected by the guest creator.

Apple says new episodes of Time To Walk, available to all Fitness+ subscribers, will be released each Monday until the end of April.

TAKE A RIDE WITH POPMOUNT

IF you’re a smartphone user, and there can’t be many who are not, you will likely have at least contemplated adding a PopSockets PopGrip to your device at some point.

The grips, which you stick to the back of your phone and lie flat until you, as the name suggests, pop the grip out to offer a kind of handle that allows a much more secure hold on the device.

PopSockets continue to expand with extra accessories.

The latest of those is the PopMount Ride, which allows you to use the PopGrip to attach your phone to your bike or scooter, so you can easily access GPS information and maps.

It’s another excellent reason to invest in one of these ingenious devices. PopGrips cost from £11.99, and come in an array of designs, while the PopMount Ride accessory comes in at £34.99. popsockets.co.uk
