Krovi quits Baggies to join Forest on loan

-

WEST Brom have confirmed that Filip Krovinovic has left the club after completing a loan move to Nottingham Forest in the Championship. Albion re-signed Krovinovic on another straight loan deal from Benfica in the summer, after he made 40 appearances in the Championship promotion winning season last term. Following the departure of compatriot Slaven Bilic, who was so eager for his return last summer, and his general lack of minutes under new boss Sam

Allardyce, the decision was reached by all parties to bring to an end his loan prematurely.

In all, Krovinovic spent 18 months at the club and became something of a fan favourite because of his charisma and bubbly personality.

He now becomes Chris Hughton’s first winter signing as Forest look to push themselves away from relegation danger in the Championship.

Krovinovic made 12 appearances this term but enjoyed only 18 minutes of league action under Allardyce – they coming as a substitute with Albion 5-0 down to Leeds United – so he’ll be hoping for better fortunes at the City Ground, though he was ineligible to feature in Forest’s FA Cup tie at Swansea on Saturday.

Albion, in a short statement, said: “All at West Bromwich Albion wish Filip a bright and successful future.”

Hughton himself said of the deal to take Krovinovic to Forest: “Filip comes with good pedigree and a player we’ve been tracking for a while.

“We have found it difficult to get the goals that we’ve needed to win more games so this is an area we’ve been looking to strengthen.

“In Filip we have a creative player who played a full season of Championship last year so knows the division.

“This had a strong bearing in my thinking and, from an offensive point of view, he gives us more options.”
