Addition to skyline tops out
BIRMINGHAM’S skyline has a new addition after a residential tower topped out at 21storeys.
The block is the tallest part of the new canalside Snow Hill Wharf scheme under construction in the Gun Quarter which will eventually have 420 apartments and a residents’ garden.
The project is being led by St Joseph, part of housebuilding group Berkeley and which is dedicated to projects in the Birmingham area.
Called The Regent, the 21-storey section features 108 of the units on offer.
Members of St Joseph’s construction team held a topping out ceremony to mark the development milestone and developers say they expect to welcome the first residents later this year.
Snow Hill Wharf is St Joseph’s first project in Birmingham with the company also behind a second scheme in Digbeth.
The development also has a cinema room, residents’ lounge, 24-hour concierge service and gym as well as three podium gardens overlooking the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal.
Director Charlie Joseph said: “The Regent is the jewel in Snow Hill Wharf’s crown.
“To see the building topping out and becoming part of Birmingham’s skyline is a key milestone for St Joseph and the transformation of the city’s Gun Quarter.”
