Tributes to woman who died in fall from cliff

-

FRIENDS of a Birmingham mother-offive who died in a cliff fall at one of Britain’s best known beauty spots have paid tribute to her, saying: “She was the most beautiful soul.”

Tahira Jabeen died after reportedly shouting “I’m coming down” to her daughter and trying to make her way back down from the cliff face at the iconic Durdle Door landmark in Dorset.

Dorset Police said it was investigating the circumstances of the tragedy, which happened on Monday afternoon at Man O’ War beach.

The force said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends of the mother paid tribute to her online.

Laura-Jane Langley posted: “So, so sad this is. She was a brilliant woman, funny and caring; would help you with anything. You will be badly missed.”

Lindsey Gimson said: “She was such a character, she has left a massive hole in all our lives; thoughts are with her family.”

James Weld, who runs the Lulworth

Estate, which owns the beach, said: “Such a tragedy affects us all and our hearts go out to her family.

“We would re-emphasise our safety messages for visitors to respect the inherent risks of our natural environment whether the sea or the cliffs themselves.

“Far too regularly warning signs are ignored, even when reminded by our rangers, on occasions leading to unnecessary and tragic consequences when they have come to enjoy the Dorset coastline.”
