Any excuse to stop going to city centre
DEAR Editor, Once again the city council has found yet another way of stopping people coming into the city – taking away free parking in the Jewellery Quarter.
They want to stop vehicles coming into the city with the Clean Air zone, yet cyclists cannot go down Broad Street.
I used to take my wife and her friend to the markets every fortnight but not any more.
They wonder why city shops are struggling: roadworks, charges, diversions, and a city centre that is a nightmare to drive in to.
Has anyone noticed the amount of extra traffic around the outside perimeter of the
‘easy money zone’?
