Members of rock band Foo Fighters play heightened versions of themselves in a horror comedy directed by BJ McDonnell, based on a story by the band’s charismatic lead singer, Dave Grohl.
Written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, Studio 666 follows Grohl and bandmates Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Taylor Hawkins as they move into a mansion in
Encino,
California, to record a highly anticipated 10th album.
The location is steeped in gruesome rock’n’roll history.
Ghosts of a band called Dream Widow haunt the building after the lead singer lost his mind and murdered the rest of the group to resolve their creative differences.
Grohl comes under attack from malevolent supernatural forces, jeopardising the completion of the album and the lives of everyone inside the
mansion.
