Gaming and tech retailer snapped up

A £100 million-turnover online gaming and technology retailer has been acquired by a private equity-backed group headquartered in the North West.

Box, which is based in Tamworth, has been bought out for an undisclosed sum by Warringtonbased Tactus.

The company, which was founded in 1996 by Mark Jordan, has more than 140 employees and recently relocated to a new purpose-built 120,000 sq ft logistics centre from its previous home in Minworth.

It sells consumer products such as tablets, computers, printers and phones.

Tactus is a consumer technology, gaming and computing company and is backed by Arete Capital Partners.

Mr Jordan, who serves as Box’s managing director, said: “We have been growing our business through our high-quality product offering and loyal customer base since 1996.

“Joining Tactus Group is an exciting milestone in the Box journey. We look forward to adding to Tactus’ portfolio.”
