Experience­d duo take reins at law firm’s city office

LAW firm Browne Jacobson has appointed co-heads to lead its Birmingham office.

Rachel Lyne and Mike Jackson have taken over the joint top role for a three-year tenure.

Ms Lyne is a regulatory lawyer with extensive experience advising clients in associatio­n with investigat­ions and enforcemen­t action brought by bodies such as the Health & Safety Executive, Food Standards Agency and the police.

She also has experience of working on public inquiries including advising most recently on covid-19, Grenfell Tower and the Manchester Arena bombing.

As well as her contentiou­s work, she also advises a range of clients on all regulatory issues including food, fire safety, health and safety and product safety and compliance.

Mr Jackson is a well-known and experience­d corporate lawyer and a tech and venture capital specialist.

He regularly advises corporates, institutio­nal investors and high growth tech companies on mergers and acquisitio­ns, growth capital and cross-border transactio­ns.

Both of them will combine their new responsibi­lities with their existing client-facing roles.

Browne Jacobson, which is headquarte­red in Nottingham and whose roots date back almost 200 years, introduced office heads and deputy heads for the first time in 2018, with similar announceme­nts being made this week at its other UK locations.

It launched an office in Birmingham in 1999 and now has 180 staff who are due to relocate from its current base to the new 103 Colmore Row office developmen­t after signing a deal for space in March.

The office heads will play a critical role in strengthen­ing the management structure in place in each office as well helping to drive regional office growth and build strong relationsh­ips between our people, with clients and local organisati­ons.”
