Fourth block in next phase of Paradise project
AFOURTH landmark office block is set to be built on the city’s huge Paradise redevelopment next to the Town Hall.
Planners have given the green light to the building on the £1.2 billion scheme. Three Chamberlain Square will also feature commercial space fronting on to Paradise Street.
The scheme, designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, was unanimously approved by Birmingham City Council’s planning committee. Construction is due to start next year and be completed in 2025.
Other office buildings on the Paradise estate include the completed One and Two Chamberlain Square and One Centenary Way, which is due to be finished by the end of this year.
Groundwork has also started on a plot fronting Summer Row where the 49-storey apartment tower Octagon is being built.
A 17-storey hotel, One Centenary Way and three new public spaces, called Ratcliff Square,
Western Terrace and Ratcliff Passage, join Three Chamberlain Square in making up phase two of the Paradise scheme, whose project cost was recently revised up by £500 million to £1.2 billion.
