Fourth block in next phase of Paradise project

AFOURTH landmark office block is set to be built on the city’s huge Paradise redevelopm­ent next to the Town Hall.

Planners have given the green light to the building on the £1.2 billion scheme. Three Chamberlai­n Square will also feature commercial space fronting on to Paradise Street.

The scheme, designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, was unanimousl­y approved by Birmingham City Council’s planning committee. Constructi­on is due to start next year and be completed in 2025.

Other office buildings on the Paradise estate include the completed One and Two Chamberlai­n Square and One Centenary Way, which is due to be finished by the end of this year.

Groundwork has also started on a plot fronting Summer Row where the 49-storey apartment tower Octagon is being built.

A 17-storey hotel, One Centenary Way and three new public spaces, called Ratcliff Square,

Western Terrace and Ratcliff Passage, join Three Chamberlai­n Square in making up phase two of the Paradise scheme, whose project cost was recently revised up by £500 million to £1.2 billion.

building of the highest quality.

“In addition to office space, Three Chamberlai­n Square will bring further leisure and retail opportunit­ies to the heart of the city, with the prospect of more topquality operators of the like we’ve already attracted to Paradise.”
