Beacon of liberty gets it so wrong

DEAR Editor, The US Supreme Court has axed abortion rights. It’s demented, appalling, primitive and utterly barbaric.

Everyone knows you cannot actually ban abortion. You can only ban safe abortion. Women will die as a result of this ruling. Countless others will have had highly personal, life-changing and even lifethreatening decisions forced on them by the state. It is difficult to understand how a country that claims to be a beacon of freedom and liberty can get so many simple things so very wrong.
