A host of individuals, companies and other employers have been named among the finalists of 12 different categories, with multiple nominations for rail project HS2, finance firm PwC and law practice Weightmans.

The awards will celebrate individual excellence in six different business sectors, before crowning our overall Apprentice of the Year, alongside recognition for companies of all sizes and training providers.

The event is run by our sister website BirminghamLive in partnership with the Ladder for Greater Birmingham campaign.

This year, we welcome Oldburybased

training provider group BCTG as our headline sponsor.

Our host for the awards ceremony will be Heart radio broadcaster Ed James.

Birmingham Post business editor Tamlyn Jones said: “We are pleased to unveil our 2022 shortlist which once again showcases the broad depth of talent we have in the Greater Birmingham area.

“This is the fourth year we have hosted the awards in partnership with the Ladder campaign and it is safe to say the passing of time has not diminished the standard of entries. We are looking forward to returning once again to Edgbaston Stadium for the gala awards ceremony which we know will be a great celebration of the apprenticeship community and those supporting the next generation of talent across the region.”
