Two women and man jailed for four-year neglect of boys

-

A MIDLAND woman has begun a jail sentence after she mistreated two boys who were made to stand for hours in ‘stress positions.’

The youngsters were denied food during the four-year campaign of abuse, a court heard.

Samantha Paisley, 36, has now been jailed for three years after she admitted two counts of child neglect. She was arrested with two others in May 2018 after one of the boys’ schools raised concerns for their welfare.

Paisley was charged with child neglect offences along with Darren Paisley, 39, and Serena Sibson-Bartram, 35.

A police and social services investigation found the trio had subjected the youngsters to a horrific campaign

of abuse over four years. Between February 2014 and March 2018 the boys were denied food and forced to stand in stress positions for hours.

Paisley and Sibson-Bartram, of Telford, Shropshire, were both charged with four counts of child neglect and were found guilty following a trial at

Shrewsbury Crown Court in April.

Darren Paisley was jailed for seven and a half years while Sibson-Bartram was caged for six and a half years at the same court.

Det Con Vicky Fisher, of West Mercia Police, said: “The defendants showed no remorse for their tremendously cruel crimes against innocent young boys they were supposed to care for and protect.

“Hopefully this third sentencing can provide the boys and their family with some closure from this very distressing case. We are grateful to the support of Telford and Wrekin Children’s Services and especially to the school who made the initial report.”

She added: “Many witnesses also came forward and we thank them for their bravery in helping deliver justice.”

Telford and Wrekin Children’s Services have placed the boys in a safe family home.
