-

A BLACK Country IT services provider has been acquired by a national group. Stourbridge-based IMS Technology Services is now part of Onecom Group which has offices across the UK and is headquartered in Hampshire. IMS was founded in 2002 and designs and builds IT and phone systems for companies across the UK while Onecom works in business technology and cloud communications. The undisclosed deal adds a further 600 customers into Onecom’s roster and marks the company’s ninth acquisition since 2019. Onecom, which is backed by private equity house LDC, employs more than 600 people across its UK offices and counts household names such as Vodafone, Microsoft, Samsung and Apple among its clients.

IMS founder Peter Arundal said: “We are really excited about becoming part of Onecom and the benefits it will provide to our customers and people. The success of IMS Technology is a credit to the whole team’s positive attitude and hard work.

“I very much look forward to seeing the team continuing to excel as part of the larger group.”

Onecom’s chief executive Martin Flick added: “As we continue to grow and broaden our portfolio of IT services, we are delighted to welcome the IMS Technology team and customers to Onecom in a move that further supports our mission to build on and extend our geographic presence and technical capabilities by acquiring strong businesses that share our culture, values and ethos.

“In addition, IMS

Technology has demonstrable strength in serving its customers with leading communication technology solutions and IT support services to an established customer base that is a complementary fit.

“The acquisition of the highly experienced IMS Technology business further enhances Onecom’s proposition to the benefit of our mutual customers, in addition to extending our reach.”

Shoosmiths, HTM transaction and Thursfields Legal all advised on the deal.
