On your marks for Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge

-

THIS year’s AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge is now open for entries.

A host of Midlands companies are signing up for the Great Birmingham Run 10K and half marathon Business Challenge on Sunday, May 7.

The challenge invites the corporate world to compete for bragging rights and a fastest-time trophy at the 10K and half marathon, with the finishing times of the fastest four members of a team used to calculate the overall team time. Previous winners of the Business Challenge include Edgbaston chartered accountants JW Hinks, the Birmingham office of KPMG, law firm Marks & Clerk and engineering company Altair. This year’s AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run features a new city-centre route, which means many Business Challenge participants could be passing their workplaces near the Mailbox, Jewellery Quarter or Southside.

Teams can be any size (minimum of 4) and are all inclusive, with no limits on team size, age or gender.

The winning team will receive a first place Business Challenge plaque to display with pride.

Each team member will receive a finisher’s medal, exclusive teeshirt (optional), and a finisher’s bag filled with goodies.

Paul Foster, chief executive at the Great Run Company, encouraged Brummie businesses to sign up for the Challenge and be part of the buzz and energy of a Great Run event.

“Being part of the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run gives everyone the chance to work towards a personal goal as well as the opportunity to support a company’s good cause or foundation along the way,” he said.

“The Business Challenge encourages a positive mindset among staff and it offers wonderful team building opportunities.”
