New year starts with church talk

MID­LAND An­ces­tors Stour­bridge Group be­gin an­other packed year of events with our ini­tial meet­ing at St Peter’s Cen­tre, Ped­more, on Tues­day, 19 Jan­uary, 2019, at 7pm.

Of­fi­cial busi­ness will kick-off our meet­ing when the AGM will briefly take place. Then there fol­lows a talk by Wendy Gwynne en­ti­tled, “All Gas and Gaiters” when she will re­count the ori­gins of the fa­mous St Thomas’s church in Stour­bridge, along with the folk who made it what it is to­day. Wendy is a his­to­rian and a long stand­ing mem­ber of the con­gre­ga­tion of St Thomas’s.

We look for­ward to see­ing mem­bers, old and new, to­gether with any­one hav­ing an in­ter­est in fam­ily and local his­tory. Our Group meets each month at the afore-men­tioned venue, these events be­ing well pub­li­cised, plus out­ings to places of re­lated sig­nif­i­cance.
