Road became a Lane in the Twenties

IN Bugle 1507 Steve Carr asked when did Londonderry Road become Londonderry Lane, the answer is around 1928.

Prior to that date Londonderry Playing Fields were in Oldbury and Londonderry Road ran to the boundary with Smethwick where it became Londonderry Lane.

Transferred

In 1928 the area was transferred to Smethwick and that portion of Londonderry Road that was now in Smethwick was renamed Londonderry Lane.
