BOB Kettle, former accountant and the last employee at the now-gone Langley Forge Ltd. of Oldbury, has sent us the following, which outlines quite a poignant day for those who have connections with that old firm.

Bob tells us: “I went last week to see the unveiling of a plague in recognition of the employees of Langley Forge Co. Ltd. The plague is situated in Langley Green Road on the site of the former Head Office of the factory

“This was organised by the former director, Jeremy Nightingale.

“Jeremy is the son of Frank Nightingale, one of the original directors featured in a photo in a previous edition of The Bugle.

“Jeremy gave a very informative talk on the history of the company, with photographs for people to look at before the unveiling .

“I enclose a picture of Jeremy and the plaque, as well as former employees Gerald and Kath Dyson, with Hazel Cowley.” ■ Share your memories of places you once worked, our contact details are on page 2.
