Bishop Asbury Cottage friends group

-

I’M a Councillor for Charlemont with Grove Vale ward in Sandwell, along with Cllr David Fisher, and within our ward we are lucky enough to have Bishop Asbury Cottage – the home of the first American Methodist bishop.

While the building is free to enter, it is, unfortunately, only open twice a year and this year was the first-time entry was permitted since 2019.

Both myself and Cllr Fisher feel very strongly that this building could serve the area much better, and with that in mind we would be keen on starting an official ‘Friends of Bishop Asbury Cottage’ group.

What do people think and would you be willing to get involved in the project? Please email me to tell me your views. If the demand is there, we will lodge a formal application with Sandwell Council to incorporate the group.
