Thank you God

- By Josie Hickens

What is it about summer That makes it so great? Is it the sun that shines so late? It starts very early, long before seven Still there at night – my idea of heaven

Is it the smell, the sounds of the birds? Trees filling empty spaces, I just cant’ find the words! To describe how I feel about summer

I do feel that nature in all the seasons Is an indication of God, all of his powers He send the sun, the rain, then the flowers

We are all in his hands, day by day So on this glorious summer day I mustn’t forget to thank you God

I know in my heart God created these trees The grass, the perfume The sweet cooling breeze I believe in loving nature I’m also loving God When out here in the garden I can feel him close at hand My weakness he will not despise I know he’ll understand When I feel the heat of the sun A rest from my chores The race almost run I realise the wonder of nature
