Big ideas in archaeology for history society’s new season talk
ON Wednesday, October 12, at 7.30pm Heather Flack will give the first talk of the Kidderminster Historical Society’s 2022-2023 season following the relaunch of the society on October 1.
Heather Flack is a local historian and writer, using the names Fen and Fenella Flack. Her talk entitled ‘Unearthing local history’ will include information on the recent ‘Small Pits Big Ideas’ project in Bewdley and also some of the fascinating finds that emerge from digging metaphorically as well.
As well as Wednesday evening meetings, the society also holds meetings on Thursday afternoons starting at 2.15pm. Both day and evening meetings are held at the Museum of Carpet, Stour Vale Mill, Green Street, Kidderminster DY10 1AZ. The room is spacious and has seating that can be moved to accommodate preferences for social distancing.
There is a small charge for visitors who are very welcome.
The meeting following will be an afternoon meeting on Thursday, October 27, when Rev Pippa Thorneycroft will give a talk entitled ‘Women of St Bartholomew’s Church, Tong, Shropshire’.
